Bromyard House, London

Cold MeltĀ®
Bromyard House, is an iconic building redeveloped into residential apartments in Acton, London.
Product brief:
It required extensive refurbishment to the penthouse terraces, involving reinforcing of the plywood decks and new waterproofing. The challenge of the roof refurbishment required a flat roof system manufacturer involved at the initial roof survey and specification design stage, followed by extensive technical back-up to assist with unforeseen and unexpected situations to ensure a successful installation of the new roof systems.
High Performance Waterproofing
The roof terraces demanded a waterproofing system with BBA certification to ‘0’ falls and BROOF(t4), the highest achievable fire rating for flat roof and balcony waterproofing systems. The fully bonded and seamless Proteus Cold Melt® was selected in conjunction with replacement of the combustible timber decking to a new, non-combustible porcelain tile finish. To minimise inconvenience to the residents, Cold Melt® is a no odour waterproofing system. Proteus Waterproofing worked closely with the Client and the Proteus Approved Contractor to ensure the installation complied with the specification design.
Health & Safety
Safety on construction sites is always of the utmost importance, as well as keeping disruptions to other trades to a minimum. Proteus Waterproofing - Cold Melt® was selected for its high performance, phased cold installation and seamless waterproofing.
Long Term Performance
Incorporating recycled rubber crumb and organically grown products, Cold Melt® creates an elastomeric, seamless, cold applied waterproofing membrane. The Cold Melt® system can include inverted roof insulation and, with or without insulation, can be designed as a paved, ballasted, green or brown roof. The membrane does not become brittle with age, is BBA Certified to last the design life of the roof and is manufactured in the UK.
